Eldoret is a city in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It is the fifth largest city in the country and the largest in the province. It lies in the western part of the country and is situated at an altitude of 2,100 m (6,890 ft). The city is home to the University of Eldoret and is a major educational and business hub in the region. It is also the main transportation hub for northern Kenya and is served by the Eldoret International Airport (EDL).
