Visalia is a city located in Tulare County, California, United States. It is situated in the San Joaquin Valley, approximately 230 miles (370 km) southeast of San Francisco and 60 miles (97 km) north of Fresno. Visalia is the closest major city to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park, both popular tourist destinations. The city has a population of over 130,000 and is known for its mild climate, low cost of living, and its agricultural production, which includes grapes, cotton, citrus, and almonds. Visalia is also home to the Visalia Municipal Airport (VIS), located just five miles west of downtown Visalia.
